Donald Freedman is from Houston, Texas and has spent most of his career in the meat business. Among other roles, he founded and served as President of Freedman Distributors, which became the largest independent distributor of boxed meat in the southwest United States, Freedman Food Service, which became the largest independent supplier of portion control meats in the southwest United States, and Comercial Norteamericana, a premium meat purveyor and distributor that grew to eight locations in Mexico. For the past twenty years, Don has also been a partner of TriStar Productions, a sports memorabilia company. He is also a past investor in two minor league baseball teams. Don currently serves on the board of the Houston Jewish Family Foundation and the Houston Jewish Community Foundation and is the former President of Houston Jewish Family Service.
